CAPE VERDE FLIGHTS TO SANTA ANTAO
The airport closed at Santa Antao some years back due to unfavourable cross winds. The airport has become derelict, although the runway is still visible at Ponta de Sol. A new airport is planned for domestic flights. To get to Santa Antao, you can take a regular ferry from Mindelo, Sao Vicente. The ferry is a former Canary Islands ferry and has a timetable which is adhered to. The crossing is about 1.5 hours and depending on the wind strength, can be a bit choppy.
