Cape Verde car rental - Sao Vicente
4x4 car rental enables you to get to those magic places that other tourists cannot reach. 4x4's also offer more ground clearance, which can be extremely useful even on made-up roads. You can get off road to deserted beaches and places to swim, surf and windsurf, and visit villages and meet some people. There are restaurants and bars off the beaten track too.
The advantage of booking your car hire before you go is that you don't waste precious time trying to organise car rental when you get there, when you may find that only the expensive cars at nearly 100 euros a day are available. We have looked around to find reasonably priced car rental from companies that deliver. Unfortunately, cars are expensive to buy in the Cape Verde Islands due to freight costs and high import duties and this is reflected in rental prices.

Note: All prices subject to exchange fluctuations. Prices include insurance, local taxes, pick up drop off and additional drivers. All drivers must be over 25 and hold a valid driving licence from a European country (other countries on request). All prices subject to change, and availability. Because everything has to be imported by sea or air to the islands, it is possible that items on the car may be missing or broken, but if this is the case, the car hire companies don't hold you to blame. Cars are quite booked up, and if your size is not available, there is no automatic free subsitution of a larger model. A caution of 100/200 euros may be required, refundable if no theft or dents.
The larger the car, the more comfortable. The Suzuki Jimny is great for two, and a bit squashed for 4, but as the Cape Verde islands are small, you may get by. For more than two, consider a larger vehicle.
